Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning began with beautiful sunlight which quickly faded into rain, freezing rain, sleet, and then snow. Barry and I did some last minute shopping that morning since we had babysitters (also known as...Nana and Grampa Dan). As we shopped, it got colder and icier. Later that evening we began the adventure to church for Christmas Eve service where Barry was speaking and Julie would be singing. Barry read The Giving Tree and shared a wonderful message. I am so blessed to be married to such a talented man and so proud that he uses his gifts to share God with others.

Isaac and Molly played in the floor at the back of the auditorium as we listened to Barry. We then shared the Lord's Supper and sang Silent Night by candle light. After the service, we began the very slow ride home as it was snowing heavily and the windshield wipers were frozen. Barry did a great job navigating us home safely. Our wonderful friends the Bushes had brought us some yummy Christmas candy to church which turned out to be a great treat on the very long ride home.

When we got home, we began a new tradition in our little family by letting Isaac open one gift on Christmas Eve..his pajamas. This year he got Cookie Monster jamis with his name on the bum. He also got to open one gift from Nana and Grampa Dan.

The snow continued to fall throughout the night creating a Christmas Winter Wonderland.
