We had a very busy weekend. I feel like I should go to work to rest some, but, of course, December in an elementary school is never restful either. We started the weekend with our church's "White Elephant party". Barry made up some new rules for the gift exchange this year. He decided....Number 1 - A gift may be stolen as many times as possible" (Yes, this did mean the game went on for quite a while) and Number 2 - If you open something that is clothing, etc., you have to wear it. And justice provailed as, right after Barry stated this rule, he opened an Austin Powers Fembot negligee. Yes, boys and girls, lace and fur and... wait for it... ruffly panties. So, after a bit of effort, he got his pink nighie on and had to spend the rest of the night in it and although he was number 3 out of 29 people to pick a gift, no one stole his nightie from him. Of course, Barry, who never gets embarrassed sported his nightie with pride and even posed for a few pictures.
We had a blast. I really wanted Julie's white elephant that she brought. It was awesome. It was an elephant toy that she painted white. It was so clever, but I got a book. I shouldn't be disappointed. I got to come home with a man in a Fembot nightie...who wouldn't be proud.
Saturday, we went to a nursing home in town and performed our church's Christmas cantata for them. I was the narrator and Barry did the drama skits throughout the performance. Then, Saturday evening we went to the Urbans for an ornament exchange. We put all the babies in their jamis and took an adorable Christmas picture. We had a feast of yummy Christmas goodies and tons of fun with our friends.
Sunday was the Cantata at Church and Sunday evening the youth group came over for our very own "White Elephant" Party and Christmas cookie making party. This time I got something I had to wear, but it was a lot less exciting. I got a robe and a hat and sword.
