Summer Fun!

As always, our summer is busier than the school year. It is a good thing that I don't have to "work" in the summer, or I wouldn't be able to keep up. I have enjoyed spending time with Isaac and getting some projects done around the house. Isaac and I have been visiting the library every week this summer and it is so amazing how much he loves books.
This makes this momma happy.

Isaac took swimming lessons again this year and has become a fish. He loves to dive for his "torpedos" and knows how to hold his breath under water forever and kick his legs.

We enjoyed some time with mom and dad as they came to visit. Grampa Dan built Isaac an amazing sand box, which he would play in all day every day if I let him. We celebrated Isaac's 4th birthday. I can't believe he is 4 years old. He requested a Larryboy cake. We had tons of fun decorating cucumbers and playing in the sandbox with friends.

Even Isaac's buddy Molly got in the sand in her pretty white party dress.

After the party was over, Isaac got to stick his finger in the cake and eat as much icing as he wanted.

Isaac finished his first season of "Blastball" which is an intro to T-ball. He loved it! He liked hitting the ball, catching the ball, and playing in the dirt.

We also spent some time at church camp. Barry and I worked hard and Isaac had tons of fun. Barry was the dean for the week and also preached. I was in charge of crafts. Isaac loved playing carpet ball and the giant slip-n-slide. He had tons of fun until he fell and hit his face on the dining hall table, sending his tooth straight through his lip.

Amazingly, he didn't have to have stitches. He is healing nicely now, but may have his first scar.

This past Monday, Barry participated in a fund raiser for the John Neal Foundation for Cancer Research in honor of one of our dear teenagers Kelly who was diagnosed with cancer this last year. Barry played 108 holes of golf walking in one day in the 100 Hole Hike with our friend Brandon. Barry and Brandon were the only people in Kansas to participate in this event. Here is the link to the newspaper article if you would like to read it. Hundred Hole Hike. Barry has a huge blister on his foot to show for it. And... he raised over $1400 for cancer research. Best of all, we found out a couple of weeks ago, Kelly is officially in remission - Praise God!

Look, his blister is shaped like a heart.

Busy summer, and its not even July yet!
