A Tribute

When my son Isaac was two weeks old, we found out that Grandpa Al’s cancer had spread and that it would not be long before he would be home in heaven. My grandpa, Al Fayette, passed away last Saturday. My mom made the observation that this was such an obvious, yet sad, example of the circle of life. I know her emotions are conflicting as she finds joy in her first grandchild and sorrow in the loss of her father. This past Sunday morning, as I walked into church with Isaac, my thoughts turned to the heritage that all my grandparents have passed down to our family. I praise God for the example they are to me and for all God has done through them to make my new family what it is now. I pray that Isaac, will pass on the values to his children that my grandparents passed to my parents and that my parents instilled in me. Thank you God for my Mimi and Grannie who are still on this earth doing God’s will; and thank you God for PawPaw and now Grandpa Al joining him in glory.
